Will I come back: Maybe, if I don’t have to queue

This post is based on Ramen & Tsukumen by Kanbe. All orders were recommended by the waiter.

New ramen/tsukumen place which is pretty hyped up. Had to queue 20-25 minutes to get in, but some of my followers said they queued for 2 hours 😂 Worth the try, but not worth the queue.

Food:

There are 8 different flavours to choose from, but the waiter recommended Aka & Shiro so I went with it. You can customise everything to your own liking so taste & texture may vary according to your customisation.

1. Aka Ramen (RM31.20) was the best among all. That being said, it wasn’t mind-blowing. The broth was rather salty, not the rich & thick kind (but still acceptable). Charshu was rather dry, but I like the fact that there’s a lot of meat 😂 I like their noodles (I ordered Hard texture).

2. Shiro Ramen (RM31.20) was also quite runny, perhaps should opt for richer broth if you would like to give this a try. Not bad, but not fantastic. Same dry Charshu tho.

3. Shiro Tsukumen (RM39) most expensive on the menu but my least favourite. The broth was really rich and thick (like mushroom soup texture) but the bamboo shoot taste was way too strong it was a turn-off. The Charshu here was dry and bland (maybe because there’s no broth to go with it) so the main flavour was from the red sauce. The noodles were springy, but couldn’t even finish half of it because I just can’t stand the broth. And it gets quite jelak too. Perhaps you can try other flavours, but I wouldn’t recommend this flavour.

Service:

Waiter ordered everything for me because I told him I’m a first-timer here. Quite friendly too.

Ambience:

It was really stuffy, not sure because of the air-conditioning or because it was full-house.
