This post is based on both Taste of Beta - TB (RM128) & Tour of Malaysia - TM (RM300) Menu by Beta KL.
Modern Malaysian Cuisine done right 👌🏻
TB & TM
Winged Beans - Crunchy & Refreshing.
Cucur Udang - Lightly crispy & slightly spicy.
Karipap - Flakey but lacked a little spices, slightly sweet.
Rendang Bao - Strong Rendang flavour but overpowered the Foie Gras taste.
Truffles - Lightly crispy Truffle shell with Mushroom filling, quite good!
CRAB - Chawanmushi with Chili Crab Foam was very rich and flavourful! Love the chunks of crabmeat inside, but it tasted more like Curry Crab than Chili Crab.
Complimentary Cocktail - BOH (Beast of Highland). No comments because I don’t really drink. 😅
TB & TM
CLAMS - This was very refreshing & acidic! Great combination of crunchy and chewy textures.
Complimentary Curry Focaccia was aromatic but Sambal butter flavour was mild.
Usually dislike Aubergine but this was surprisingly good! The tumeric flavour (and other spices) were quite strong, love the crunchy Sour Dough bits.
Glad I supplemented the Lawas Rice with Seafood & Lobster (RM110)! Red rice risotto was very rich, flavourful and bursting with umami. The chargrilled seafood were juicy and smokey.
Wagyu Striploin (RM140) - Medium-rare, Koji-shio marinate enhanced the flavour of the beef, gives it a rich smokey aroma! 👌🏻
Lamb Racks - Medium, also marinated with Koji-shio but was less flavourful compared to the beef. Tasted better with the Roasted Garlic Purée.
Short Ribs (RM40) was slightly dry and had a bitter taste from the black pepper.
Musang King Ice Cream was very rich and had chunks of durian!
TB & TM
Bird’s Nest, Coconut & Lychee combo was refreshing and crunchy.
Kaya & Kopi - Pastry was slightly thick but Kaya was good! Coffee espuma was bittersweet.
Chef personally explained each course 👏🏻 Waiters were attentive.
Cozy and comfortable bar and dining area.
