This post is based on Horizon Grill’s ala carte menu. All orders were recommended by the waiter.

Food:

Didn’t think it was anything extraordinary. Other than the views, there’s pretty much nothing to shout about.

Ordered Whole Lobster Pasta Tomato Base (RM288) but was served Aglio Olio. Spoke to the waiter, and first thing he said was “I already repeated your order” instead of apologising that he took the wrong order. Later on, he decided to check with the kitchen and changed the pasta. Sadly it was overcooked, but luckily it was flavourful.

Braised Angus Short Ribs (RM158) was tender but slightly bland.

NZ Lamb Rack (RM148) was cooked Medium-well without asking for my preference of doneness. I would’ve preferred a Medium. Taste was nothing extraordinary.

Japanese A4 Tenderloin (RM438/200g) was cooked medium (Again, without asking for my preference) but was well-seasoned and very tender.

Steak Tartar (RM98) as the appetiser, looked very unappetising. Very strong mayonnaise and onion taste. Not what I was expecting out of a Steak Tartar.

Tasted better with the complimentary bread.

Cranberry Chocolate Bar (RM38) tasted like cheap chocolate. Couldn’t find the fresh berries, and the cake/chocolate bar below was dry and hard.

Mango Cheesecake (RM38) was quite bland, but luckily the mangos added some sweetness to it.

Service:

Waiter was very defensive and constantly pushing the blame.

Ambience:

Great KL Tower & Twin Tower views. Indoor & outdoor seatings are available.

Disclaimer:

Felt sorry for the 2 couples who were arranged next to each other for a special occasion - one table with more roses & decorations than the other. They should’ve separated both tables away from each other, instead of making it look awkward, like a competition.
