This post is based on Malaysian Afternoon Tea (RM148/set) by Lounge On The Park.

Food:

Larger variety compared to most afternoon tea places, but quality wise some were average, some were below average.

Sweets:

Most of the sweets were alright, but I really didn’t like the Mango Pudding (way too sweet) and Tepung Pelita (tasted weird). My favourites were the Chocolate Delice and Pandan Lapis Cake. They were spot on.

Savouries

Ordered 3 sets, and 3 sets came with different savouries 🤔 Must’ve been a mistake from the kitchen because they were all over the place.

Overall the savouries were mehhh. Grilled Beef Sandwich & Scrambled Egg Rice Crepes were okay, but not great. Prawn tandoori wrap had very strong capsicum taste. Chicken Mantau was dry.

Scones were the worst. The texture was like hard and dry bread that was left for a week. Tasted better with the Kaya.

The tea selections here were tilted towards the bitter side (personally prefer sweet/fruity teas). Had the Coconut & Truffle Tea and it was kinda bitter.

Service:

Definitely needs improvement. Sweet and savouries were both short of a few items when the set arrived, but thankfully they made it up to us by giving us a few pieces extra. Waiters were very inattentive. Everyone was all over the place.

Ambience:

Old-fashioned and boring interior but comfortable seatings.

Disclaimer:

It was only 4pm when I ordered the Afternoon Tea Set and they were already in a mess. Cannot image how it’ll be on weekends.
