Maria's Steakcafe

Pork-free, serves alcohol

This post is based on steaks from Maria’s ala carte menu.

Food:

Didn’t like the fact that all the steaks were seasoned with their house seasoning. It overpowered the natural flavour of the steak. All steaks were requested for medium-rare doneness.

1. Kobe Beef 200g (RM500) was juicy, tender and fatty. Sadly I couldn’t taste the natural flavour of it. What a waste of good beef.

2&3. Both were Wagyu Ribeye MB9 200g (RM300), but one tasted like MB9 and the other (free) one tasted like MB6-7 (tougher & less juicy). Asked the waiter and she said it was MB9, without checking with the kitchen 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

4. Wagyu Tenderloin MB9 200g (RM360) was slightly rare so I requested to send back to the kitchen.

5. The mash, salad & onion rings were nothing to shout about.

Service:

Friendly and attentive staff.

Ambience:

Old school, boring interior with comfortable seatings.

Disclaimer:

I randomly searched for steakhouse that was open at 4pm and this was available so I went and give it a shot. Would’ve been a lot better if they season the steak with just salt and pepper.
