This post is based on ala carte menu by Mercat. All orders were recommended by the waiter.
Both mains that I ordered were good, but all the tapas and desserts cannot make it.
Paella De Arroz Negro (RM88) was the best dish of the night. Squid-ink Paella was rich and flavourful, rice was moist but not mushy and seafood was okay-fresh.
Spanish Baby Lamb Shoulder (RM128) was tender and flavourful. Great portions, good for sharing.
Baby Lobsters (RM26) were juicy but under-seasoned. The sauce and garnishing didn’t help much.
Flamenquin Iberico Cheek (RM58) was crispy outside, tender inside, but meat was bland.
Bamboo Clam Navajas (RM18) were very fishy. This was bland too.
Pulpo Gallego (RM75) was chewy, bland and overpriced.
Chocolate Cake (RM23) was similar to Chocolate Soufflé. Great texture but it tasted cheap.
Churros portion (RM21) was huge, but tasted like “smelly oil”, the chocolate sauce was too runny and tasted similar to the Soufflé.
Crema Catalana (RM23) had very strong Vanilla Essence taste, which tasted very artificial. I’m not a fan.
Complimentary bread was stale.
Waiters were friendly but not very attentive.
It was hot, stuffy and tables were cramped up quite close to each other.
Would rather head next door to El Meson.
