This post is based on 4 Special Omakase Courses.
Brought my favourite chefs from Ushi for a Special Omakase experience at my favourite Sushi restaurant in KL!
There were a few repetitive courses, so I will just highlight the new ones. (You can refer to my previous write-ups!)
(2 & 3-1) The special ingredient for the night was the 2 “high-level”, rare uni’s from Kyushu & Karatsu. They were nothing like the uni’s that I’ve had in the past. Both had very intense flavours: They weren’t sweet, weren’t salty, they were extremely rich and deep in flavour (a hint of bitter aftertaste because the umami was very strong!) And for someone who loves uni, I don’t think what I just described even did them justice. And I went for another round of each 😋
(3-2) Kuruma Ebi (Tiger Prawn) was juicy, sweet and lightly crunchy.
(5-1&2) Ishigakigai (Giant Clam) was extremely fresh and crunchy!
(5-4 & 7-2) XXL Botan Ebi and roe with Uni Sauce was slightly creamy and crunchy from the roe - still good, but I preferred the traditional shoyu instead.
(8-3) I’m used to having Ori San’s marinated Katsuo (Bonito) but the Katsuo Sashimi here was just mind-blowing fresh and tasted great with the onion sauce.
Ori San gave me a box of Miyazaki Mangoes! 🙏🏻🥰
