Pork-free, serves alcohol

This post is based on Afternoon Tea Menu (RM99/set) by Thirty8 @ Grand Hyatt.

Food:

Great value-for-money Afternoon Tea Set! Might not be the highest-quality, but I enjoyed at least 70% of what was served considering the price I’m paying.

Sweets

1. Other than the Madelines which were too dry, and the lemon tartlet which was too sweet, the rest were quite decent. Not usually a fan of Macarons but this wasn’t overly sweet!

Savouries

2. Didn’t like most of the sandwiches. The Salmon and Tuna toppings were fine but all the bruschetta base kinda “masuk angin”.

The curry puffs and spring rolls were so damn good! Would pick these over the sandwiches any day.

3. Scones were crusty outside, soft inside, but not buttery enough. Still, quite good when paired with cream and jam.

4. Love the Blackcurrent & Hibiscus tea, slightly sour and fruity.

Service:

Waiters tend to forget my order, service was also quite slow. Hopefully it’s better during weekdays.

Ambience:

Some seatings have great KL Tower and Twin Tower views. But some seatings are very awkward (overlooking the kitchen.)

Disclaimer:

I’ve been here a few times, quality is pretty consistent.
