This post is based on mostly live seafood and some orders from the ala carte menu.
Yamaguchi was one of the first few places where I’ve had huge King Crabs & Lobsters (My record was 6kg for the lobster itself). Sadly there seemed to be lesser variety now, but quality is still consistent.
Live King Crab (RM1040/2kg) was prepared 2-ways: Father-in-Law & Golden Salted Egg Yolk with Oats.
Father-in-Law style was savoury, the sauce was very flavourful from the garlic, dried chilli and spring onions.
Salted Egg Yolk Oats was sweet, salted egg yolk taste was quite mild but it brings out the sweetness of the king crab.
Garlic Steamed Live Pearl Clams (RM76/6pcs) had strong garlic aroma, clams were plump and juicy.
Poached Live Prawns (RM48) were juicy and it was lightly crunchy.
Spicy Lala (RM49) was requested for Level 3 spiciness but still not spicy enough for my liking. But the flavour was good.
From the Menu
Unagi Train (RM48) was soft, but the sauce was too sweet for my liking. The rice tasted normal, but no complains for the price.
The manager offered us Complimentary Dessert to finish off the meal 🙏🏻
Waiters were friendly and attentive, constantly changing our plates. I also like that the chef accommodates various styles of cooking.
As the name speaks - fish market (except this was clean and not too fishy) You can pick and choose your own seafood.
Indoor and outdoor seatings available.
I usually order the live seafood instead of ordering from the menu.
